Age: 7
Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden
Background
Mathilda lives in a suburb to Stockholm with her two parents and her
younger brother. They live in a house and she has her own room on the upstairs floor. On the walls there are posters of a couple of soccer players and a pop group. She just started school and particularly enjoys math. She
plays soccer and enjoys drawing with her friends. She owns an iPhone 4s and
shares a tablet with her brother. She uses the phone to play games and take
pictures in her spare time, and to call her parents when she is away from home.
Personality
Mathilda is
a happy and playful child with a desire to learn new fun things, if they are taught in the right way. For example, she really enjoys educational tv shows for children and books with the right amount of pictures and text. She has many
friends her own age, some from school, some from her soccer team and some from the area where she lives. Sitting still is not her strong suit – she gets bored
quickly and has problem maintaining concentration if she isn’t stimulated. In her group of friends Mathilda is often the one to come up with fun ideas and games. Har friends enjoy her company as you are seldom bored in it.
Today
Mathilda is
going on a Sunday activity with her family to Fotografiska Museet in the city. She doesn't really know what to expect since she hasn't been there before. After asking a lot of questions about the museum at the breakfast table, she has decided that she is looking forward to going. Her parents have told her that
there is an exhibition with pictures of animals, and she is excited because she
likes animals and likes spending time with the family, but is worried because
she thinks that sometimes her parents tend to give her younger brother all the
attention. When this happens she tends to get bored and not have a good time. Other times, on the other hand, she and her brother have a lot of fun together. Mathilda is hoping that the family will also have time to have "fika", which means sitting down in the café of the museum and having cake. She always enjoys spending time with her family likes this and also she really loves cake.
